The Jordan 1 Mid Milan is no ordinary shoe, especially it being an iconic and well-known Air Jordan 1 pair. Air Jordan 1 sneakers also come in different original silhouettes – low, mid, and high.
Many sneakerheads have always favored the high versions of the Air Jordan 1 pairs, as compared to the “mids”. This is because it seems like Nike markets the “mids” as a more budgeted and less high-quality version of the high pairs.
However, it is interesting to see how the Jordan 1 Mid Milan has become an exception to this for various reasons.

what is the Jordan 1 Mid Milan?
This pair was first released last February 19, 2020, at ONE BLOCK DOWN. Along with the release was a one-day Jordan exhibition at Museo Del 900 in Milan. This included a free throw shooting contest, where purchasers of the Jordan 1 Mid Milan can win a chance to purchase archived designs at the original MSRP. The shoe was then released globally a few days after.
This shoe, by its name, was inspired by the capital city of Milan in Italy. It is part of an Air Jordan 1 “City Pack”, three pairs that were inspired by the architecture of three European historical cities: Milan, Paris, and London.
It was heavily drawn from Milan’s rich traditions and eye-catching Gothic architecture. The colorways take cues from the likes of the Duomo di Milano cathedral and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent.
features of the Jordan 1 Mid Milan
A beautiful combination of beiges, tans, and grey encapsulate the colorway of many architectured in Milan, all incorporated effortlessly in the Jordan 1 Mid Milan sneaker. Its official colors are sail, light bone, string, and shimmer.
It has a fun mix of textures with its different material components, from suede and leather to canvas. On the tip of the toe is an interesting tan leather embossed ribbed texture material with a premium and durable feel to it. It has white flat laces with a contrast dark brown color tip and a matching white canvas tongue.
The tongue has the original Jumpman logo on a white leather tag. The toebox and eye stays are a light grey suede, adding a subtle balance. The side of the shoe has an almost salmon pink hue leather panel, which provides a not-too-out-there contrast.
The iconic Nike Swoosh logo is in a muted grey on the white leather base. It features a white midsole and a light tan outsole. Inside the shoe is a white mesh sock liner with a deep red color insole.
There is also a leather “MLN” hangtag made of the same textured finish as the toe detail. This can be removed or left on the shoe for that extra style factor (leave it on for +10 style points).
Finishing off the shoe is the classic Air Jordan ball-and-wings logo that is debossed, no extra fuss and frills, just the classics.
The quality of the sneakers overall is good. The craftsmanship is well-done. The materials that were used look better than how it feels, but everything was up to a standard. It feels firm and sturdy on the feet, so it is not the softest shoe out there.
The sneakers fit true to size, the same as the other Air Jordan 1’s out there. The overall theme of the sneakers would be subtlety and minimalism. It is generally muted but stands out when you pay closer attention to the details.
The textures were played with really well and the color combination was well thought-out – creating a good-looking pair of sneakers that can stand the test of time.

Styling these sneakers can be a task for some, especially with their multi-color tones. Some people may have a harder time styling them, compared to the usual all-white or black sneakers. Don’t give up though because here are some tips and tricks on how to style these sneakers with ease and confidence.
Generally, the Jordan 1 Mid Milan is in a muted colorway. It sticks to lighter neutrals like beiges and greys, which makes it perfect for a light-colored outfit. You can easily pair these sneakers with light-colored bottoms like white and beige.
It creates a more monochromatic look with similar shades and elongates the body. Another option is to literally go monochromatic like an all-black or all-white look. The sneakers are the pop-of-color and the statement piece for the look.

final thoughts on the Jordan 1 Mid Milan
In conclusion, overall I personally love this sneaker.
It is my for Jordan mid and I am very pleased with how it fits. What drew me towards the shoe was the earthy aesthetic of the colors. They did a great job of encapsulating the look and feel of Milan. And what really sold me was the MLN tag on the shoe to add that final touch.
All in all, I’d rate the sneaker 9/10. I leave out a point because while this sneaker is very versatile in terms of colors, you do have to plan your outfit around the sneaker or you might have a weird looking outfit.
